Guest speaker, Merle Hoffman, discusses the personal, political, psychological, and philosophical reflections of her 51-year journey as one of the first abortion providers in the country before Roe v Wade. She will share stories of allies and enemies, reflecting on how she came to view the abortion struggle as a power struggle, a positive moral good, and a mother’s act. Merle speaks candidly about her battles in the on-going war against women’s freedom, her radical political work past and present, and her own abortion.
Merle Hoffman is an internationally known leader in the struggle for women’s rights, a healthcare pioneer, founder of women’s health, political, and reproductive rights organizations, and a prize-winning writer and publisher.
