An Announcement from the Washington Ethical Society Regarding Their Annual Camping Trip

March 29, 2017 by Firefly

The Washington Society has opened its annual Memorial Day Weekend Camping Trip to all societies!  Please read the attached flyer for details. There are spots for 200 people (but no one is counting… there is space for more). If you want to just join for the day/early evening activities, but sleep in a more comfortable location, there are hotels nearby. The Park is Gifford Pinchot Park in Pennsylvania and we have basically 90% of the Group Camping area reserved just for us! How far is it from you? From DC it’s about 2 hours, from NYC it’s about 3 hours. Reachable and possible for so many people! During the day we do a variety of things – we start the day with communal meals, where everyone gets a turn at helping cook/prep the meal for the day and we sit all together in a great picnic area. Then there are games and swimming and boating and hiking. There are opportunities for crafts, badge earning areas, scavenger hunts, etc. There’s always a talent show on Sunday night and S’mores with a campfire and sing-alongs every night. All ages!

Alternatively, you can take a look at the WES site about the camping trip here.
We would love it if more Societies could join in this year. The Northern Virginia Ethical Society is already a go! Baltimore has some interest too. Who else? If you decide to go, please RSVP to ESNW and WES, so we all know who is going.
