Our next adventure in reading will take us away from neuroscience and into the realm of ancient human ancestry. Anthropologists and archaeologists have worked tirelessly in uncomfortable positions and surroundings for the last 100 years, trying to figure out who we are and where we came from. But due to the limitations of this research, it has been riddled with theories, conjecture, and oh so many vicious arguments.
Then genetics entered the picture. And that really stirred the pot. David Reich is one of the researchers in the field of ancient DNA and has written the tome “Who We Are and How We Got Here” and the group has decided they are willing to enter the fray. Warning: this book is hard work, therefore we will read only the Introduction and Part I (74 pages), for Sunday, February 16th, 1:00 PM.
All are welcome. And if you haven’t read the book, come an listen to the discussion.
