Ethical Culture Memorial Services honor the life, the achievements, the struggles, the endeavor of a person who has died. Shaped like all Ethical Culture ceremonies with respect for the uniqueness of the individual, a Memorial Service will be a unique event, created by the Leader in close conversation with the family land friends of the deceased.
Memorial Services may take place at the Society building, a funeral establishment, or a home, and the content of the ceremony may include a eulogy, spoken comments from family and friends, periods of silence, readings, music. The uniqueness of the individual will be echoed in the shape of the service; the reality of that person’s life and of the loved ones feeling will be respected and cherished.
It may not be possible for an Ethical Culture Leader to respond to every request for a ceremony but we will do our best to help when we are asked, either directly or by making referrals to others.
Please do not hesitate to contact us even before a need arises, if you wish, to learn more about Ethical Culture ceremonies, to explore who we are and to get a sense of whether we would be appropriate companions at these milestones in life.
