“CLIMATE JUSTICE, STORYTELLING AND YOUTH MOBILIZATION” With Keerti Gopal, National Geographic Explorer and Fulbright Fellow

April 3, 2023 by Robin

Watch the full platform here.

Sunday, April 9th, 2023

Climate justice is the understanding that the climate crisis is injuring humanity along existing lines of inequality, with marginalized communities bearing the brunt of a crisis caused by the rich and powerful.

In this discussion, we’ll talk about climate justice – both globally and locally– and hear stories of how people are mobilizing to fight it. We’ll also talk about the capacity of storytelling to motivate action, and think about how we can participate in the fight for our collective future.

Keerti Gopal is an emerging multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker based in NYC. She is a climate fellow at the Solutions Journalism Network, and a participant in One World Media’s Global Short Docs Forum. Keerti spent a year in Taiwan documenting stories of climate action as a Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellow. She is a Northwestern University graduate, and previous member of the Sunrise Movement, in the fight for a Green New Deal.
