Many of us at ESNW have taken part in endeavors for the betterment of our world. Those endeavors may have been large or small, local or global, successful or stunted, in groups or as individuals, in our professions or as volunteers, but they have all been meaningful. We have marched, protested, picketed, campaigned, mailed or called, offered direct services, taught, tutored, and nurtured, touched other souls. This Sunday we will share stories of our own engagement in communities, organization, neighborhoods, political activities, advocacy and action for social, economic and racial justice, and programs and project to ease the burdens and increase the happiness of fellow human beings. Think of times when you became active in such experiences and what caused you to get involved: What was the activity? What was it trying to accomplish? What was achieved (or frustrated)?
Be prepared to tell each other about your endeavor and what you did, and tell us what it was like for you, how you may have changed, what you learned and what still lingers
We will listen to each other, without questions or comments until all who wish to (we hope many!) have had a chance to speak, and if folks want more time, we can stay on during our “virtual coffee hour” and converse.
