Drawing on our shared humanity and connection, what kind of world do we envision being part of and what will it take to get there? How do we engage every generation in the democratic and civic engagement process? What steps can we take to find balance between individuality and the collective? Drawing on a range of experiences, the speaker will share vignettes from her own life and explore a range of possibilities to engage us in thinking and action in an ever- changing world.

Liz Fernandez is a bilingual and bicultural educator, trainer, and speaker and has written curriculum and facilitated workshops globally. She has served as an administrator, teacher and facilitator in the independent school community. Ms. Fernandez also serves as a Senior Consultant and Leadership Coach with JONES Inclusive, a strategic management and DEI consulting firm. Currently, she works as the New York State Association of Independent School (NYSAIS) Job Fair Administrator, focused on increasing the number of teachers and administrators of color within independent schools.
