Guest Speaker Suzie Ross presents a non-linear story of the evolution and community engagement practices of environmental advocacy group, Green Ossining, launched 15 years ago with a mission. As host of Westchester County’s largest Earth Day Festival, and with programming like the Green Ossining Sustainability Partnership, the organization recognizes that “community” can be defined in various ways. While its mission has not changed, its growth – in a variety of directions – has come from the engagement of communit members and the recognition that to remain relevant and impactful, goals can and will shift with the times.
Suzie Ross has an M.S. in Climate Science & Policy. She is Co-founder and Chair of Green Ossining: Co-founder and Co-Chair of Climate Reality Project – Westchester; Chapter/Member of the NYS Chapters Coalition Advocacy Team; Ambassador, Riverkeeper; and Member of the Westchester County Climate Task Force.
