Jan. 17th; What Does It Mean To Be White?

January 13, 2018 by Firefly

REPAIR (Rivertowns Episcopal Parishes Action on Inclusion and Race) presents:
What Does It Mean To Be White?

Join us on Wednesday, January 17, at Christ Church, Tarrytown, when we’ll gather to explore this question. The meeting will be led by David Laurance from St Barnabas, Irvington, and Jordan Margolis, community organizer and friend of REPAIR.

Whether you consider yourself to be “white” . . . are friends with someone who is “white” . . . or simply want to understand a mysterious concept that has shaped our society yet that we rarely even attempt to explore . . . you’ll find the conversation challenging and eye-opening!

Meeting Time: 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Snacks provided

Presents Values in Action
REPAIR will be a Partner Site for this year’s Trinity Institute Conference.  You’re invited to join us on February 2-3, at The Church of St Barnabas, Irvington, to hear from a remarkable collection of speakers, including author Michelle Alexander, journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry.

The theme: Values in Action–how we can discern shared values, form powerful partnerships, and move forward with courageous intention.  At our REPAIR Partner Site, we’ll hear the speeches and panels, take part in local reflection groups, and enjoy learning and growing together.

To attend any or all of the three sessions at the REPAIR Partner Site, sign up here for Session 1 (Friday evening); here for Session 2 (Saturdaymorning); and here for Session 3 (Saturday afternoon).

IMPORTANT: Just 25 seats are available for each of the three sessions, so don’t delay–sign up today!
