Nostalgia: what does it mean? How does it affect our personal experiences? Is it friend or foe? Join Eileen Gallagher for a deep dive into the etymology of the word “nostalgia”, and as she guides us through personal experiences—to move us from simply pining for what used to be, to a place of greater appreciation for the here and now.
Eileen Gallagher has been a teacher of English as a second language (ESL) and English to middle and high-school aged students, as well as adults, for over 35 years and has been a member of ESNW for longer than she can recall. Eileen is currently an active volunteer with Open Arms for Refugees, serving as an English language tutor for recently arrived immigrants.
