Sunday, November 1st at 11:00 AM:
Join guest speaker, Anne Cunney, as she shares how, at sixty, she began searching for her birth parents and uncovered an extraordinary family story.
Although both had died, Anne found half siblings who introduced her to her Ukrainian and Anishinaabe heritage, and she discovered why ancestry matters.
As Atul Gawande wrote in Being Mortal, “To be part of a story that reaches back thousands of years…is all that I desire.” Anne feels that ultimately, we belong to one beautifully blended human family.
After a 20 year career as a market researcher of patient and physician healthcare communications, in 20/5 Anne completed Columbia’s Master’s degree program in Narrative Medicine. For seven years she was director of youth education at the Ethical Society of Northern Westchester (ESNW). Since 20 / 7 Anne has been a lecturer for the Narrative Medicine Certificate of Professional Achievement program at Columbia University New York City.
