This Sunday, October 6:
Today, we have a greater understanding of the vital role of “play” in all aspects of a child’s development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. This increased understanding of the importance of play has, to a large extent, arisen from current brain research, which makes clear that the brain’s actual physiological development is profoundly affected by play experiences. Certainly, these findings have important implications, in terms of both today’s early childhood curricula and how we think about the impacts of many other aspects of modern society.
