Attorney Elizabeth Stein will provide insights to NhRP’s recent, highly publicized litigation to free Happy the Elephant from the Bronx Zoo to an animal sanctuary, with broader discussion about why and how the organization fights for the legal rights of nonhuman animals, including the obstacles they encounter, and the progress they’ve made.
Prior to her work with NhRP, Ms. Stein was a solo practitioner in New York, focused solely on legal issues pertaining to animal rights, welfare, legislation, and advocacy. She holds a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and a B.S. in German SUNY Albany, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude.
