By definition, “the Jim Crow laws were state and local laws introduced in the Southern United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that enforced racial segregation, “Jim Crow” being a pejorative term for an African American. Jim Crow remained in force until 1965.
In honor of Juneteenth, ESNW welcomes guest speaker Gerald Watson, for a presentation on the Jim Crow Laws and how they affected the African American experience in America and the residual effects today, even in Westchester County.
Gerald Watson is a retired financial controller who specialized in the commercial real estate industry. He earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and became a Certified Public Accountant.
