Joe will explore the leading principles of Ubuntu Ethics made famous by Bishop Tutu during the reconciliation process that followed abolishing Apartheid in South Africa in the 1990s. He will compare Ubuntu Ethics to Western Communitarian Ethics and how it supports Restorative Justice for long standing social injustice.
Joe Palau holds a PhD in philosophy from Binghamton University. Joe ran the NYSEC Sunday School program and served as Head of Ethics for the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. As member of the Northern Westchester Society, he served on its Board, and he taught at the Ethical Culture Lay Leadership program in North Carolina. Today, Joe teaches ethics and first-year philosophy at Southern New Hampshire University.
