It’s undeniable that US politics have become increasing polarized and polarizing. Last year, ESNW member Ed Mandell delivered a platform entitled, “Why our constitution is killing Americans and our American Democracy,” where he traced the root causes of the issue to the US Constitution. But what if the problem goes even deeper than that? What if Democracy itself is broken? What’s an optimist to do? Maybe democracy just needs a reboot.
Damian C. Rossney is a member of the Ethical Society of Northern Westchester, a lifelong Ossining Resident, and a father of four. He is a graduate of Skidmore College, and was formerly incarcerated. Damian has worked as a paralegal, in the non-profit realm, and is presently a software developer.
