NY Civil Liberties Union “Day of Action”

Albany State Capital, March 13th. Stand up for justice and equality! Promote civil rights and civil liberties! Curtail hate and discrimination! Fight for the rights of ALL New Yorkers and stand up against the discriminatory platform of Trump’s campaign.  Register with NYCLU.
Legislative Action Items:
Enact public defense reform that ensures the constitutional right to effective counsel.
Protect reproductive freedom by reforming New York’s abortion law to codify Roe v. Wade.
Fight hate by protecting New Yorkers, including immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ people, minorities and students in public schools, from discrimination and harmful government actions.
Protect New Yorkers’ privacy by limiting surveillance and securing or destroying government databases.
Promote police accountability and transparency by publicly reporting street stops, arrests and police misconduct.

Attend a regional training prior to March 13th for an overview of supported legislation, an explanation of the legislative process and to receive detailed logistics for the day.
